Set of 2 Antique Horse Prints of the Arabian Horse

Set of two antique prints titled 'Arabischer Hengst. Etalon Arabe' and 'Arabische Stute. Jument Arabe'. Two horse prints of an Arab stallion, Arab mare and Arab foal. These prints originate from 'Naturgeschichte Abbildungen der Sæugethiere' by Heinrich R. Schinz. Published 1827. This work on mammals was part of a series of volumes issued covering all aspects of natural history, including birds, fish, reptiles and mammals. The plates are lithographed by Carl Joseph Brodtmann (1787-1862) one of the most accomplished Swiss lithographers of the day.

Condition: Good. Images trimmed, originally two images on one sheet. Minor wear and soiling. Small pieces of tape on verso, no text. Please study image carefully.
