Antique anatomy print showing a deeper layer of the muscles of the male torso. This print originates from 'Anatomie De L'Homme Ou Descriptions Et figures Lithographiees De Toutes Les Parties Du Corps Humain', by Jules Cloquet. This work was published between 1821-1831 and contained over 300 lithographed plates.

Jules Germain Cloquet (1790-1883) was a French physician and surgeon who was born and practiced medicine in Paris. He became one of the earliest members elected to the Academie Nationale de Medecine in Paris. Cloquet was the inventor of several surgical instruments, including an arterial forceps. He also had a keen interest in alternative medical practices such as mesmerism and acupuncture.
