Antique World Map in Two Hemispheres

Antique map titled 'Orbis Terrarum Typus de Integro Multis in Locis Emendatus'. Antique world map in two hemispheres. Title in Latin and in Dutch above the map. Around the two hemispheres beautifully engraved latticework and scrollwork motifs. Highly decorative map. Hand-coloured copper engraving, published in Amsterdam in 1621. The map is the second state of the edition published earlier (in 1590) by Petrus Plancius. The name of Plancius has been replaced by D.R.M. Mathes. Margins left and right are professionally restored.

Condition: Good. General age-related toning. Minor wear and soiling, few small tears in margins. Margins left and right are professionally restored. Dutch text on verso, please study image carefully.
