Antique print titled 'Recolte du Ling (Trapa Bicornis)'. Lithograph depicting the harvest of Trapa Bicornis, or water caltrop. The water caltrop is any of three extant species of the genus Trapa: Trapa natans, Trapa bicornis and the endangered Trapa rossica. It is also known as buffalo nut, bat nut, devil pod, ling nut, lin kok, ling kio nut, mustache nut or singhada. The species are floating annual aquatic plants, growing in slow-moving water up to 5 m deep, native to warm temperate parts of Eurasia and Africa. This print originates from 'Flore des serres et des jardins de l'Europe' by L. van Houtte.
