Antique print titled 'Côte de Dabul - De Kust van Dabul'. Original old print of the coast of port city Dabhol in India. In the 15th and 16th centuries, Dabul was an opulent Muslim trade center. Around 1660 it was annexed to the new Maratha kingdom. Originates from a Dutch edition of 'Histoire générale des voyages' by Antoine-François Prévost.
Engraved by J. van Schley. Jakob van der Schley (Amsterdam, 1715-1779) was a Dutch draughtsman and engraver, who studied under Bernard Picart, and whose style he subsequently copied.
Condition: Good. General age-related toning. Original folding lines. Minor wear and soiling, blank verso. Please study image carefully.
