Antique map titled 'Dépt. de Lot et Garonne'. Map of the French department of Lot et Garonne, France. This area of France is known for its production of Buzet wines and Cabécou d’Antan, small round goat cheese with a fine, creamy texture. The Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella also passes through the northern part of this region. This map originates from ‘Atlas National de la France Illustré’ by V. Levasseur. Published by A. Victor Jules Levasseur (1795–1862) was a French cartographer widely known for his distinctive decorative style. He produced numerous maps more admired for the artistic content of the scenes and data surrounding the map than for the detail of the map
