Antique Engraving of a Parrot Species

Antique bird print titled 'Le Perroquet Tapiré'. Original engraved print of a parrot species. This print originates from 'l'Histoire naturelle des oiseaux' by Buffon. Buffon was the intendant of the Jardin des Plantes in Paris from 1739 to 1788. He became known as author of the monumental series “Histoire naturelle, générale et particulière”, which was printed in 36 volumes between 1749 and 1788.

Condition: Good. General age-related toning, minor wear. Two small pieces of tape top margin. Blank verso. Please study images carefully.
